Discovery Kids Ultimate Labs DNA Explorer
from Popular Science
... this kit from Discovery Kids--the first to feature a bona fide centrifuge and electrophoresis chamber--will turn your kid on to the intricacies of genetics at an even younger age. Realistic lab equipment transforms the kitchen into a forensics lab, where your breakfast-bar biologist can extract clumps of real DNA from fruits and vegetables or solve "crimes" by revealing DNA "fingerprints."
Damn! I was psyched when I got my cheap little chemistry lab kit at the age of 10 and was able to make some useless color-changing liquids. Apparently If I had been born fifteen years later, I could have created Jurrasic Park in my back yard. I feel a little cheated.

oh great, just great. Kids are getting all of the good toys these days. Back in MY day, we had Atari and whatever we could beg for at Mr. Big's Toyland, nevermind real f'n DNA kits. Kids today are going to become like Stewie on Family Guy...supergenius before outta diapers.
