Report: Pike tolls unfair but necessary
from Milford Daily News
BOSTON -- To the chagrin of MetroWest lawmakers, a commission charged with studying the equity of Massachusetts Turnpike tolls has ruled out a host of ideas aimed at easing the burden on commuters from the western suburbs.
The commission -- a panel of legislators, state officials and transportation experts created by the Legislature -- acknowledges in its 39-page report that MetroWest tollpayers and other east-west commuters "seem to pay a disproportionate share" of the Big Dig's cost.
I think the Wolf had the real solution here. "Its your future...I see a cab ride. Move out of the sticks, boys."
