01/07/2004: Criminally Absurd

I got free cable for four years and it made my family fat and lazy. I'm suing.

A Wisconsin man is suing Charter Communications, a cable company, because they never turned off his cable and he says that cable made his wife fat, kids lazy, and him...well, apparently retarded.

He's asking for in his suit for either five grand or three computers and free internet access for life. Charter Communications claims their services, albeit enjoyable, are hardly proven to be addictive.

If this lawsuit goes further, this would be the very definition of criminally absurd.

I get a picture of a real life Carl from Aqua Teen when I envision the slobbo suing the cable company...

Is this the end of western civilization? Is the pole shift next?
If this guy wins, does that mean that we can all sue television? Think of the class action lawsuit NBC would have on their hands...

We could each clear billions based on the pain and suffering of having to sit through Coupling while it was on the air.
