Follow Up: Russian Political Mystery
from ITAR-TASS
MOSCOW, February 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Ivan Rybkin, missing candidate for the Russian president, has been found, head of the Rybkin election staff Ksenia Ponomaryova told Itar-Tass.
"Ivan Petrovich Rybkin called me and said that he had had a pleasant four-day trip to Kiev and could not understand why everyone was so hysterical," she said. Rybkin will arrive in Domodedovo at 9:30 p.m.
Rybkin disappeared last Thursday, and the family made a statement to the police. Criminal proceedings were instituted on the murder charge. Rybkin did not attend a compulsory press conference at the Central Electoral Commission, which had registered him as a candidate for president.
He is due to take part in televised debates on February 12.
This is still super fishy. Why wouldn't he tell his wife he was going on a pleasant visit to the Ukraine?
They don't have TV's in Ukraine? Isn't ITAR-TASS at least partially state controlled?
