Guess What? North Korea Has Concentration Camps Too
from Donga.
Last night I was watching TV and stumbled upon a documentary on the Discovery/Times channel about North Korea. One of the most recent revelations about North Korea involves the testimony of a former prison guard who has escaped to the South, who claimed in a recently aired BBC documentary that they have a) concentration camps and b) do chemical weapons testing and such on the political prisoners. Thse concetration camps are a relatively recent development under the reign of Kim Jong Il. North Korea, a member of the "Axis of Evil," nearly provoked war with the United States in 1994 (they built up their nuclear weapons program to the point of having "the bomb") and 1998 (they shot a 3- stage missle which failed, but if it had worked, would have landed on the West Coast), gives a good idea of what Iraq might have looked like if we had let them alone for many years and let one of Saddam's sons take over.
Here is an article about the allegations made by Kang, the former prison guard from the South Korean paper Donga.
