01/20/2005: Criminally Absurd
Homosexual Cartoon Characters: The Growing Menace
from BBC
from Pluggedinonline.com a website run by Focus on the Family
SpongeBob and Patrick frequently run around in their skivvies...One of the times Patrick's bareness is beheld, he has a pole wedged between his, ahem, cheeks ... a pole with a flag labeled "SpongeBob." (Patrick asks SpongeBob, "Did you see my butt?) Plankton gives a (male) TV reporter an adoring "look" when he asks for an interview, then coquettishly replies, "Anything for you." SpongeBob creeps into Squidward's shower and begins scrubbing his back for him. And Patrick prances about wearing women's high-heeled boots and stockings.
It's obvious, though I'm loath to write it, that The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie doesn't just allude to the building mystery surrounding its characters' sexuality (see the Conclusion for more on this), it repeatedly plays with it. It revels in adult-minded asides that fly right over kids' heads and straight into the disbelieving stares of parents.
"Is it just me, or do SpongeBob and Patrick act even more immature and effeminate than ever before?" asks Christianity Today movie critic Russ Breimeier. "I had to shake my head in disbelief at the site of Patrick in thigh-high leather boots and fishnet stockings-I squid you not.
from People For the American Way:
The American Family Association claims that children's television characters are being used as a "bait and switch" to "indoctrinate children to accept homosexuality" in the new DVD from the We Are Family Foundation. SpongeBob SquarePants, Barney the Dinosaur, Dora the Explorer and Bob the Builder are among those popular characters featured in a remake of the song "We Are Family" being distributed to public and private elementary schools to promote diversity and tolerance in the classroom.

I read an article, which later was found to be fake, were the retired President of Nintendo said that Kirby was obviously ment to be gay. Makes you wonder what other characters we knew and loved are actully flaming homos, besides He-Man of course.
In the formentioned article, the retired prez is also said to have stood up on a chair cupped his hands to his mouth and screamed, "Suck my little yellow balls, Balmer". Priceless. Wish it were true.

I just wonder how many gays out there can say they're gays because of this or that cartoon character they used to watch...
It's a pity that society is already filling the minds of innocent kids with their own views of the world. For kids SpongeBob is nothing but a "sponge" who lives in a pineapple under the sea...

This guy on fark layed down this quote.
"Perhaps you've had a bit too much Jesus when you start worrying about sexual subversion coming from an anthropomorphic sponge"
